Retired Red Sox slugger David Ortiz will headline this year’s Middlesex Community College Celebrity Forum. Dan Roche of WBZ-TV will interview the former designated hitter at 8 p.m. on June 8 in Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, April 7.

David Ortiz etched himself into Boston sports lore by leading the Red Sox to three World Series championships in 2004, 2007 and 2013. Dan Roche, meanwhile, is the recipient of a New England Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Series for his work on “Red Sox This Week,” and has been a leader in Boston sports coverage for over two decades.

All proceeds from the forum support scholarships for MCC students. Since 2004, $269,000 has been awarded to 104 MCC students.
