They have been the band to watch in Boston for the last three years, and during that time everything Gentlemen Hall has done just seems to bring them ever closer to the national stage. And it now appears that 2012 just might be the year! But before we look ahead perhaps a brief refresher course of their regional/national accomplishments thus far is in order.

The attention in Boston started in the summer of 2009, when MTV took notice of the act and nominated Gentleman Hall as one of Boston’s Best Break Out Artists, an award they would go on to win in September of the same year. Early in 2010, the Boston Phoenix named them Boston’s Best New Act and The Boston Music Awards followed that up with a Gentlemen Hall nomination for Best New Band.  All the while the band continued to record new music and their live events were drawing more and more fans. In the summer of 2011, Billboard Magazine gave these guys a serious nod and the act went on to win a nationwide battle of the bands contest which landed these fine “Gentlemen” on stage at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. And last but not least, in Dec of 2011 Gentlemen Hall capped off their lightning rise on the Boston music scene by winning two Boston Music Awards, Video of the Year, and Best Rock/Pop Act.

The genesis of the act is a simple one, and one of chance. Strangers one day, and band mates the next. Six amazingly talented musicians all born and raised in different areas of the country who all met and came together while students at Berkley College of Music in Boston. They became fast friends and the band (and their future) was formed. A series of gigs in many of the city’s colleges soon commenced. Their fan base was quickly established and soon after, live area music venues such as Harper’s Ferry, The Middle East, and Great Scott quickly gave these guys a stage to play on. But it’s the music that keeps drawing the fans back and adding to their rabid success. These guys are going right to the source to find their soul, rock, and pop sound, and this ain’t no boy band. These gifted “Gentlemen” can play. Creating words and music is a collaboration of all six band mates, and every finished song from their debut CD “Give Us Roots, Give us Wings” features layers upon layers of instrumentation giving Gentlemen Hall a sound and a style all their own. The CD is available on iTunes and all the digital download music services. It also only takes the words “Gentlemen Hall” through any www search engine to see and hear it yourselves. Their live shows are high energy, their sound is tight, and their stage presence is a polished performance from start to finish.

Check’em out at and catch their next Boston area show at The Brighton Music Hall on Saturday April 7th at 8 p.m.
